Lost Track - at Club Gretchen Berlin
An original creation with DJ Werd, the dance ensemble, Filmmaker Ralf Pleger (featured sculpture from Alexander Polzin)
Using the idea of the labyrinth as a laboratory, a starting point, we explored the themes of orientation, loss, and direction. The labyrinth, in all its connotations and uses, offered us a framework in which to explore the questions we had gathered since the disruption caused by corona.
According to mythology, the labyrinth was originally designed by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete to capture the Minotaur, who was eventually killed by Theseus. Legend has it that the labyrinth was so confusing that Daedalus had difficulty finding the exit after creating it.
In many ways, the labyrinth consists of a series of apparent opposites: Shelter and trap, direction and confusion, toward the center and away from the center, getting lost and being found.
